You were all excited to see the Grand Canyon Skywalk on your trip to Las Vegas — until you found out you’d have to drive 5 hours round-trip to get there. There’s no need to cross this man-made marvel off your bucket list. Just get off the road, and take to the sky!
On the Indian Country Adventure with Skywalk tour, you’ll shave hours off the trip to the Grand Canyon Skywalk, without missing a thing along the way. After being shuttled from your Las Vegas hotel to Scenic Grand Canyon Airlines’ exclusive passenger terminal in Boulder City, NV, your fixed wing airplane lifts off over the abstract terrain of the Mojave Desert. In less than 45 minutes, you’ll take in sights such as Hoover Dam, a marvel of engineering dating back nearly 100 years; the O’Callaghan-Tillman Memorial Bridge, a modern masterpiece soaring 900’ above the Black Canyon; forests of Joshua Trees nearly 1,000 years old; and the azure waters of Lake Mead, an integral water source for the Southwestern U.S. As the land rises up before you one last time, your airplane touches down at Grand Canyon West.
Grand Canyon West is a business venture owned and operated by the Hualapai Indian Tribe, who have occupied this area for hundreds of years. As you disembark from your aircraft, you’ll board a complimentary hop-on/hop-off shuttle to the rim of the Grand Canyon. Two billion years of geologic history are literally laid at your feet, unfettered by guardrails and fences. Since developing their tribal land holdings near the Grand Canyon, the Hualapai Tribe has made a name for this area by offering one-of-a-kind experiences and attractions, such as the Grand Canyon Skywalk. As you take your first step on this glass platform, high above the Colorado River, you might catch your breath as the sensation of walking on air hits your senses. We assure you, this structure is sturdy and safe! While personal cameras are not allowed, you have the option of purchasing a souvenir photo package. Take advantage of the opportunity to walk around the promontory at Guano Point, and see dance performances by Hualapai Tribe members in colorful regalia at Eagle Point. Replicas of traditional dwellings occupied by Native American tribes of the Southwest U.S. will deepen your appreciation for the history of this area, and the challenges people faced just to eke out a life before the advent of modern conveniences. A box lunch is included in the price of your tour.
After about 4.5 hours at Grand Canyon West, it’s time to head back to Las Vegas. Upon landing back at Boulder City, you’ll be transported back to your hotel. The beauty of the Indian Country Adventure with Skywalk tour is that it is only about 7 hours long, hotel to hotel, giving you plenty of time to experience Grand Canyon West and the Skywalk, and enjoy the nightlife of Las Vegas!
